Eco-Culture’s enterprises become vegetable production leaders in Stavropol Krai

The website of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation published an article about the achievements of the Stavropol agro-industrial complex in the greenhouse industry. Among other things, the authors evaluated the production indicators and named ECO-Culture’s complexes as the best enterprises in the region.

Stavropol Krai ranks among Russia’s leading regions in the production of greenhouse vegetables. Here, the active development of indoor crop cultivation technologies allows to grow the most popular varieties of vegetables to be supplied not only to local retail chains but also outside the region.

10 greenhouse complexes in Kirovsky, Izobilnensky, Predgorny, and Andropovsky districts produce vegetables all year round. The total area covered by the greenhouses nearly reaches 249 hectares (as of 2021). The most part of that, importantly, is occupied by year-round greenhouses.

In 2021, more than 100 thousand tons of vegetables were grown in the region, which brought it to the 4th position in the nationwide production rankings. This year, the performance of the Krai is expected to increase. The most popular crops here are tomatoes and cucumbers, followed by lettuce, zucchini, and eggplants.

This remarkable expansion of the greenhouse sector wouldn’t be possible without the state support measures. Right now, all agricultural producers can get subsidies for partial reimbursement of the funds spent on indoor vegetable cultivation with the use of supplementary lighting technology. For this purpose, the government allocated more than 20.6 million rubles from the state budget. Many enterprises have already taken advantage of federal support.

The greenhouse complexes Solnechny Dar (Izobilnensky District), Ovoschi Stavropolya, and Eco-culture (Kirovsky District) hold leading positions in vegetable production in the region. These enterprises are part of ECO-Culture holding, with one of them, which marked the beginning of the company’s history in 2010, giving its name to the entire holding.

All ECO-Culture’s greenhouses use only environmentally friendly methods of plant cultivation, without any growth stimulants or chemical protection agents. Not only does this have a favorable effect on the vegetables’ taste but it also guarantees quality and health benefits for the customers.

ECO-Culture agro-industrial holding is a leader in the indoor production of eco-friendly vegetables. The company operates greenhouse complexes in Stavropol Krai, as well as in Lipetsk, Tula, Voronezh, and Leningrad Oblasts. Apart from that, it also owns logistics and distribution centers in Moscow and Lipetsk Oblasts, St. Petersburg, and Stavropol Krai. The holding produces tomatoes, cucumbers, and lettuce throughout the year and supplies them to more than 60 federal and regional retail chains all over Russia and to the Republic of Belarus.
