Maria Bocharova, the holding’s Senior Vice President, becomes the “Woman of the Year in the Agro Industry”

The “Woman of the Year in the Agro Industry 2021” award is the first large-scale public initiative undertaken in the Russian agro-industrial complex to recognize the best female professionals in the field. Its main goal is to give women from the agri-food sector an opportunity to proclaim their accomplishments, prove their leadership qualities and professional competence as well as promote business activity among women.

The ceremony was held as part of the II Annual Forum entitled “Women in Agribusiness – Women Agro Live 2021”, which took place on October 15 in Moscow, at the Metropol Hotel and in the online space. The organizer of the event was Agrotrend web portal.

Notably, this year’s Women Agro was supported by the State Duma, the Federation Council, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, as well as local authorities, industry associations, and numerous mass media representatives. The major agricultural enterprises, farms, investors, and experts attended the forum. The event was broadcast live on the agrotrend.ru platform with an audience of over 5,000 people.

The immediate participants of the forum were women in the field: business owners and executives, agriculturalists and scientists along with the industry’s leaders and outstanding figures.

Held in a mixed format, the forum began with welcoming speeches delivered by the heads of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and Rosselkhoznadzor. The business-related part of the event allowed the speakers to share their success stories and views on the current state of the agro-industrial industry in Russia. The participants discussed urgent tasks and problems, as well as the state and public support measures offered to women in the agricultural sector.

The event culminated with a solemn ceremony of awarding the laureates of the “Woman of the Year in the Agro Industry”.

The award is presented for:

• record-breaking performance in the industry;

• outstanding sales and production rates during the COVID pandemic;

• the successful launch of new products and achievements in market leadership;

• innovative solutions that significantly impacted the company’s performance.

Comprised of 35 experts of the agro-food industry including representatives of sectoral unions and public authorities, the competent jury named the finalists in 6 nominations, thereby acknowledging their high achievements and leadership qualities in the professional field.
