Recently, the economic forum took place in Saint-Petersburg, within which it was decided to build a new greenhouse complex in Voskresensky district of Moscow Oblast. The new generation of computer-controlled greenhouses will be used to grow berry crops.
An agreement on cooperation was concluded between AgroSK Ltd. (part of the ECO-Culture holding) and the government of Moscow Oblast. The document was signed by the Executive Director of AgroSK V. Miroshkin and the Deputy Chairman of the Moscow Oblast Government V. Khromov.
The 30-hectare complex will be built in three stages from 2020-22. The main crop to be cultivated in the greenhouse is a large-berry garden strawberry. After the complex is launched at full capacity, the annual yield will amount to 1.5 million kg. The investment volume for the project will total around 500 million rubles. The number of new jobs provided by the greenhouse is 480.
Sergey Fomenkov, the Vice-President, Strategy & Marketing at ECO-Culture holding, informed the media about the construction of the complex being the most important step towards expanding the product range and increasing the company’s sphere of influence in the domestic market. The berry direction is relatively new for the holding since until now the main specialization of the majority of greenhouse enterprises were vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers, and herbs). In the nearest future, the greenhouses will be used to supply our capital and Moscow Oblast with fresh strawberries as well.
